30/11/2013 – Penang, China House; Georgetown Literary Festival

We were hIMG_1430 (2)appy to share the stage with some great KL performers, namely Min’z and the great Azmyl Yunor. To our surprise, Penang’s own Ray Cheong was there too.

Min’z performance was phenomenal with her haunting vocals and I immediately fell in love with Azmyl Yunor and the Sigarettes, with his brand of humor in his music. By the way, seeing him perform have inspired me to do a new song Azmyl style… but another time, another story for that.

We were quite nervous by the time we were up and quite frankly, we didn’t expect people to stay to watch us as the greats have already done their acts… but lo and behold, everybody stayed back, Buddy held on to his beats. Ruth was fantastic with her lead, thanks for the couple of beers before the show. The cheers were loud at the end of the set which made me happy.

Kien told us we made a few new important fans that night.. which I hope will be an advantage for us in the near future. But nonetheless, we have already made contact with Ray Cheong and hopefully that’s a good leeway to shows in KL. Fingers crossed.

Ah well, another feather in the cap…

Peace out!
