T’was the month of Georgetown Festival and t’is definitely a buzy month for us.
In the past few months, we were buzy recording our first single titled, “My Beautiful Island Life” for the Oh! My Penang project and I have to say we got a lot of gigs to perform under this banner.
To start things off, we get to play in a uniquely, antique coffeeshop in the heart of Georgetown called “Eng Loh“. Personally, I didn’t think much of it when we got signed up and it was until when I arrived at the coffeeshop that I appreciate the settings and the crowd.
Firstly, it reminded me of the 60’s or 70’s where there was just a small stage with cheesy lights to brighten up the atmosphere. There was no air-conditioning and sweat flowed down our cheeks as we performed and also on the faces of the audience as they clapped along with Ruth when she sang, “Rolling in the Deep”.
This is definitely the best stage that we performed in all these while and hopefully this is not the last.
PS: This is also the day the first batch of MH17 victims are flown home. Thus why we wore black as a mark of respect.
